Happiness
– Agnès Varda
Sunflowers start blooming everywhere.
A woman carries a bouquet
down the street. Black and white
photographs of them in magazines.
Their centers droop dead in vases
surrounded by fallen petals.
Overgrowth hanging
from the garden bed. The sun
hot and ripe as an egg. While
the woods start to vanish, women
gather there with small children,
making houses out of sticks.
